Luminescent Breeze represents the continual intersection of the human story with nature. A meeting place that connects the stories to the earth, from the past and into the future. The circles represent the continued life-cycle of the planet, and the leaves portray the renewal of the land, all swirling and dancing within the light.

180 George showcases the archaeological collection unearthed on the site prior to the commencement of construction. It is representative of the early colonial history of Parramatta. It provides visitors and pedestrians with an opportunity to engage with the physical relics of an era that is long gone.

Additional, incidental interpretation was included through etching to the walkway surrounding the building, in public spaces, providing a layered approach to the cultural integration of the site’s history.

Maryung Ngurra represents the harmony that the Dharug people have with the land. The seasonal changes tell them where they need to be to care for country and to survive. Their culture has many lore and is a spiritual life, where all are equal and live in harmony with our environment. When the Maryung (emu) shows herself moving in the night sky she is showing the peoples where they need to travel too, when it is time for nest making and egg laying to occur, and when to follow her song lines on their ngurra. They follow her ancient pathways, reflected in their ngurra and in the sky.

Baramadda is the place where the saltwater meets the freshwater, a place of many ceremonies and cultural stories thousands of years old. Travelling along old pathways to meet with many mobs sharing and trading with each other. Dharug culture is a culture of sharing and coming together in lore and ceremony, celebrating the creation of Dharug country by paying respects to Bara, the creator and the marri badu (river). Ceremony in this place is ancient and continues today as all are on a cultural journey in an ever-changing place.
